Wildflower Propagation Talk & Workshop with Bill Cullina (6/7)

Wildflower Propagation Talk & Workshop with Bill Cullina (6/7)

Transplanting seedlings and rooting cuttings will be Bill Cullina’s focus during a lecture/workshop that’s one of the featured programs of the June 6-8 Garden Fair & Native Plant Sale.

From 1-4 p.m., Bill, who will join the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens staff in mid-June as Plant and Garden Curator, will cover basic plant physiology and anatomy, cutting techniques, container design, soil mixes and fetilization.

Participants will enjoy guided practice in taking cuttings and transplanting seedlings of various wildflowers to take home. If you register for this class, bring a sharp pair of scissors or pruners.

Pots, soil, and a variety of plant materials are included in the fee of $42 for members of Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens or the co-sponsor, New England Wild Flower Society; the non-member fee is $50. This workshop is eligible for an elective credit in the NEWFS Certificate in Native Plant Studies program.

To register for this program, call (207) 633-4333 or sign up at the Gardens.
