Give

Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is more than New England’s largest botanical garden – we are also a nonprofit organization that relies on charitable gifts to support our mission. Your support makes it possible for us to provide a place of beauty, learning, and connection to the natural world. Together, we are creating a resource for the community and for present and future visitors.

Your Support Makes a Difference

Our five magical, mysterious, and mammoth recycled-wood troll sculptures by Thomas Dambo inspire visitors to discover new ways to lose—and find—themselves in our forests. This project aims to draw our visitors into the depths of the Gardens’ woodlands while simultaneously telling a story of conservation through discovery.

Our educational programs emphasize the importance of supporting nature through ecological and biodiverse landscapes, and our classes inspire learners of all ages to grow with us, deepen their understanding of botany and ecology, energize their inner artist, or become better gardeners and stewards of their environment. Learn more about our educational offerings.

We are in the process of documenting the wild plants of Maine through the MidCoast Flora Project. Gardens staff botanist, interns, and volunteers have the opportunity to visit a variety of natural communities within a 50-mile radius of the Gardens to study and collect plant specimens. These are then prepared for accession to the Gardens herbarium. Learn more about our herbarium and our evolving research efforts.
