What’s In Bloom – June 4, 2024

What's In Bloom

Highlights: Rhododendrons and azaleas (Rhododendron spp.) continue on in their splendor this week, as poppies (Papaver spp.) and ornamental onions (Allium spp.) begin to open on the Great Lawn! Various species and cultivars of Solomon’s seal (Polygonatum spp.) can be spotted throughout the gardens in a range of forms—from towering to tiny; from variegated leaves to ruby-red stems. For a unique sight, head to the Burpee Kitchen Garden to see the flowers of the golden-chain tree (Laburnum × watereri ‘Vossii’).
