What’s In Bloom – July 17, 2024

What's In Bloom

Highlights: This week, hydrangeas (Hydrangea spp.), coneflowers (Echinacea spp.), and daylilies (Hemerocallis spp.) continue to be some of the most prominent blooms across the gardens, displaying a wide array of species and cultivars. While passing between the Bibby and Harold Alfond Children’s Garden and the Burpee Kitchen Garden take in the pink, purple, and blue hues of the Twist-n-Shout bigleaf hydrangea blooms (Hydrangea macrophylla ‘PIIHM-I’). Guests entering the gardens crossing the Heafitz bridge might notice the flowers of the JOSEPHINE clematis (Clematis ‘Evijohill’) winding through the posts. The Cleaver Lawn is well worth a visit due in part to its mountain hydrangeas (Hydrangea serrata) being in flower.
