No matter what route you take in your garden wanderings this week, you are bound to come across some eye-catching cultivar of garden phlox (Phlox paniculata) and a graceful calla lily (Zentedeshia spp.). Visitors may want to pay special attention to the hydrangeas (Hydrangea spp.) and coneflowers (Echinacea spp.), which are both approaching peak bloom in the upcoming days. One area of interest is the passageway between the Burpee Kitchen Garden and the Great Lawn, where feathery purple meadow rue (Thalictrum rochebruneanum) is currently blossoming on one side and yellow bouquet dill (Anethum graveolens) on the other.
