Late summer and early autumn flowers are in full bloom across the Gardens! Look for the toad lily (Tricyrtis macropoda) blooming in mass in Slater Forest Pond, the seven-sons flower (Heptacodium miconioides) opening in the Haney Hillside Garden and the yellow wax bells (Kirengeshoma palmata) blooming in the Giles Rhododendron and Perennial Garden. Also blooming are the bright yellow blooms of fragrant golden rod (Solidago odora) in the Borsarge Education Center Gardens and the pale purple flowers of cupid’s dart (Catananche caerulea) on the Café Walk.
