Garden Investigators Camp: Wild Wetlands for Ages 4-6 (Sold Out)
August 7, 2023 @ 9:30 am - 1:30 pm
Monday-Friday, August 7-11, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
The Gardens is full of beauty and wonder thriving above ground, but there’s plenty to discover below the surface too! Our many ponds are teeming with life, and campers will spend the week exploring them, catching frogs, salamanders, and aquatic bugs while learning all about their life cycles in the process. Campers will also discover the unique adaptations of the plants and animals that depend on these diverse habitats for their survival.
Karen Jones is the Camp Coordinator for the Gardens. Karen brings with her over fifteen years of teaching experience working with children of all ages. She holds a bachelor’s degree in math/science with a concentration in early childhood education and a master’s degree in leadership and policy in early childhood education, both from Wheelock College. She currently teaches first grade at Hall-Dale Elementary.
NEW for 2023! Extended Explorations, 1:30-3:30 p.m. every day after camp ends
Does your child want extra time after camp to explore the Children’s Garden, catch frogs, or build a fairy house? Does a later pick-up time work better for you? In this new offering, campers will have the opportunity to spend an extra two hours exploring, playing, and discovering after the regular camp day ends. Activities will be led by an Education staff member and will include games, hikes, and lots of nature discovery in our gardens and beyond.
