Here at the Gardens, we’re always looking forward to the next discovery. Our educational programs emphasize the importance of supporting nature through ecological and biodiverse landscapes, and our classes inspire learners of all ages to grow with us, deepen their understanding of botany and ecology, energize their inner artist, or become better gardeners and stewards of their environment. Whether you are just beginning or are well-established in your studies, there’s always something to discover at the Gardens.
Learn, Explore, Discover
Learning for Adults
No matter your interests, our dynamic range of classes encourages lifelong learning and development. Expand your knowledge of the natural world, develop your gardening skills, refine your artistic abilities, or learn about our native botany and ecology and become a better environmental steward. Our adult learning opportunities are led by regionally- and nationally-renowned experts—including our own staff—and range from hands-on workshops to engaging lectures, multi-day excursions to deeply-delving certificate programs.
Youth & Family Programs
Our programs for children inspire lifelong connections to the natural world for all budding scientists, artists, gardeners, and nature-lovers. Kids explore the science and wonder of the natural world through explorations, summer camps, or naturalist programs. There is always something at the Gardens to spark the imagination and add memories and magic to your visit—encounter real-time metamorphosis in our Native Butterfly and Moth House, examine bees at the Learning Apiary, or settle in for story time in the Bibby and Harold Alfond Children’s Garden.
Take a Tour

Field Trips & School Groups
Groups from schools and off-site summer programs often come to learn, study, and play at the Gardens. If you’re a teacher, we offer field studies and Intensive Study Units to complement your in-class programming.
